Surviving to Thriving After Trauma

Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.

Surviving to Thriving After Trauma

THIS JOURNEY IS FOR anyone who has ever been sexually abused, assaulted, or experienced trauma of any kind. If no one has ever said these words to you, I want to tell you: I’m sorry. I’m sorry you had to go through what you did. It is not okay. It is never okay. I’m sorry your heart, your spirit, and your body had to hurt in ways others can never imagine. I know your pain. You are not alone.

HOPE is a montage of quotations, poems, stories, and anecdotes. It is designed either to be read start to finish, or to pick a page at random from the section you feel you are moving through on days when you need inspiration and uplifting.

My hope is that we will never again experience the deep traumas that forever changed us, and that we learn to ride the waves through the sea of life, taking shelter in the restoration of safety and empowerment within. Please accept this invitation to heal, grow, and rise; and by extending hope to others, we can build a community of thrivers.

Some of the most comforting words in the universe are ‘me too.’ That moment when you find out that your struggle is also someone else’s struggle, that you’re not alone, and that others have been down the same road.
